I watched the cricket match between Asia XI and Rest of the world at lunch break.... Asian XI lost the match for 112 runs.
it was Australian prime minister John Howard who tossed the coin to start the match. the match began with a minute's silence for the victims of the tsunami.
1000 AUS$ for each runs scored and a whopping 50,000 AUS$ for each sixes in the play, i think the offer from 3G Mobile netwrork (Official sponsors of the Australian Cricket team ) was awsome. the match raised around 15 million AUS$. there will be an online auction of the dress the cricketers worn during the match .
Around 70,000 people watched the cricket which was played in the melbourne cricket stadium and a Billion through TV . Sony Entertainemnt channel broadcasted it in india and here it was by Ten Sports.
anway am happy that cricketers have contributed something to the tsunami vicitms :) thats great. after all its the charity who should be the winner.
